As the title suggests, I am unable to find and queries I put into the programme.
Tmdb works fast as expected, but there are some omissions so I need to find the missing 700 movies by means of IMDB. I am on Manjaro - 3.3.2 doing the leap from EMDB .csv Looking forward to any kind of kind suggestions ![]() |

A reply within 10 minutes deserves a WOW a resounding WOW
Well, first things first, I may have some Windows experience limiting my perception of things here... Tmdb finds nothing here: 101 Reykjavík, 12 Monkeys and many more. IMDB keeps spinning and after many many seconds nothing happens. i have enabled the Firewall with recommended basic settings. What else can I add? Eagerly awaiting your assistance, |

Your mention of a firewall does make me think there might be an issue there. Tellico uses the KDE frameworks so if you need a proxy or modified network settings, they need to be enabled through the KDE system settings. If you open another KDE network app (like konqueror or falkon) are you able to open imdb.com without trouble? If that's not the issue, then there is something else going on. Tellico 3.3.2 should be fine with reading IMDB, at least from my tests...I'm not sure what it might be at the moment. |

I appreciate your input, mate!
konqueror - imdb works just fine I have disabled the Firewall, however, to no avail. I am open to any suggestions... edit// hold it, after re-enabling the Firewall IMDB plugin is working! not quite... for example 13 Hours yields 6 results out of which none is the one, some documentary about the film in question. 40 Year Old Virgin same, a documentary about the film instead of the very movie. oh boy... I want to be able to use Tellico, perhaps I need to update the version but my repos don't have a newer version at the moment. |

Here's what I get for 40 year old virgin: https://pasteboard.co/JzRBe9C.png Sounds like you don't get the same results? |

So that's how you have been doing the searches ha
You know what you can start laughing now but after the IMPORT I used CTR+A and tried to update my 4600 movie list, which sounded reasonable at that time ![]() Whenever I did the search I used the title - RMC - update entry. Am I making myself clear ? ![]() So I should only be using the main search window? |

Doing the update works in many cases, though I wouldn't run it on 1000s of entries at once. Tellico isn't much optimized for that short of batch job. The update process does the search and then tries to figure out which response matches the entry being updates by comparing various field values to get a score. If the score is too low, nothing is updated. If the score for multiple search results are equal, Tellico will ask you which one to use. For example, if I create a new entry with the correct title and product year and try to update that from IMDB, it won't work because the score from comparing two fields isn't enough. But if you add the director, then the update result meets the threshold and all the other information is filled in. Make sense? It may be that you have some existing info that is different than the IMDB results which might be enough to say they don't match. |

Sure thing, I am more than pleased especially now that I have manually added the missing 670 movies oho boy that was no mean feat.
Kudos! |
