Tellico catalogues

Wed Oct 14, 2009 6:50 pm
Note the spelling - I live in the UK, is there a catalogue that will specifically pick up the ISBN from this side of the big pond. The British Library would be nice.

Perhaps I was being too cryptic. Tellico can use both the US library of congress and ISBNdb for book searches. These don't necessarily include books published outside of the US.

I would like to be able to use something like the British Library catalogue within Tellico.

All I can suggest is that you browse the British Library site - the link I gave you - and try to work out what you need to make tellico work with it the same way. Without knowing the software it's hard to guess.

The British Library has a z3950 interface, so you can add that as a Data Source in Tellico in the Settings dialog. You can find the BL z3950 configuration on this page
http://irspy.indexdata.com/find.html?dc.title=^b*&_sort=dc.title&_count=9999&_search=Search

There's actually a preset source already for COPAC in the z39.50 settings, too, so you could pick that one as well.

You could also use Amazon.co.uk as a source.
