Tellico and amazon configuration

Mon May 03, 2010 8:36 pm
Hi all,

Despite of the fact that I'm using Gnome, sure you're open :) , I try to use Tellico 2.2 (KDE4.3.2) and a part of my CD collection is already entered.

2 questions :

- I've configured amazon in data sources but nothing is returned : muzicbrains, discogs audio search don't recognize some old CD I have. I've configured this new datasource amazon.com, enter my login/pwd, but nothing happens for each request I send. What's wrong ?

- I'm please to see that Tellico is translated at 96% for french but 4% are present everywhere in the application ;D More seriously, which package I have to load to have it in french ? it's seems that this application is not included in kde-i18n-fr.

thks

As far as I am aware all translations are included in the i18n module, including those for Extragear and Playground. Unless Tellico exists outside KDE SVN, it should be translated.

Can you be more specific? "Nothing happens"...what does that mean? You get no results, but you know amazon does have what you're searching for? Have you tried searching for something else to see if the Amazon search does work?

Hi,

thanks for your replies,
to bcooksley : I know that it should but even though after Ubuntu 10.04 migration it don't; Maybe I will try to install KDE and see if it works
to robbystephenson : of course I know that cd exists on amazon but I don't know how the informations retrieval of cddb works. if you have a link / explanations maybe I can test more deeply.

Searching amazon is completely different from looking up a CD on the cddb server. You search for a CD in Amazon via the "Search Internet" dialog. You can search by title, artist, etc. Discogs is the same, it's just a search by title or artist, the actual CD is not used to look anything up.

If you have a CD in your drive, and Tellico was compiled with cddb support, you can look up the CD on freedb.org by going to File->Import->Audio CD data
