I should have spotted it earlier, but hindsight is a wonderful thing! Yes I'll let openSUSE know about it. I've confirmed that I can duplicate the problem on both PC's by swapping the USB mouse, so It's not some mobo problem. I guess that lets you off the hook Robby thanks for your interest.
