Question on handling anthologies

Thu Aug 18, 2011 5:20 am
I have question on how to handle anthologies in a book collection. I would like to incorporate the titles and authors of the individual stories in an edited book so that they can be grouped and listed. I know that I would need to use a table structure like the "tracks" field in a music collection. The first problem I have with a table is that only the first column seems to be available to be grouped. The second problem is both table columns have to have the same format. Is there some way to configure a table so that I could get a grouping of author/story title/book? Thanks for any assistance.

You've hit on a problem with the way Tellico currently stores its data. I don't have any good suggestions for how to handle anthologies or to do the grouping you want to do.

The same problem exists with tracking TV episodes. I'm starting to work on some improvements in Tellico that would facilitate working with data for anthologies, TV episodes, etc. better, but it won't be ready any time soon. Sorry... :|
