I want to retrieve Library of Congress Call Numbers (not the Library of Congress Control Numbers; LCCN#) for the books in my collection. I've tried following the advice at http://periapsis.org/archives/2004/12/09/importing_additional_mods_info_to_tellico.html and https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/tellico-users/2010-July/000459.html but observed no change in behavior.
I put copies of my modified mods2tellico.xsl file in ~/.kde/apps/tellico, ~/.kde/apps/tellico/data, ~/.kde4/apps/tellico, ~/.kde4/apps/tellico/data, and /usr/share/kde4/apps/tellico. Those posts are old; is there a newer way to add Library of Congress Call Numbers? |

How about ~/.kde/share/apps/tellico/? |

oops. I meant .kde[4]/share/apps... for each.
The directories were already there, I didn't have to make them. I just kept copying the xsl file to each one and restarting Tellico until something changed, but nothing ever did. |

The classification numbers have also already been added to the mods2tellico.xsl file that is shipped with Tellico. You might want to open up the Data Source config options for the Library of Congress z39.50 source and make sure that "LoC Classification" is checked there. (I'd forgotten that I'd recently added them)
If you edited the default mods2tellico.xsl file, go ahead and remove it from ~/.kde/share/apps/tellico/ |

OK. I found that in the release notes for 2.3. I currently have 2.2 from the ubuntu repositories, but the next release will have 2.3. I'll wait and see if it works after I upgrade.

I didn't investigate deeply enough to figure out why it was working for you as described, though. Sorry about that. I do hope you get a chance to upgrade and that it works better for you then! ![]() |

Yay. At first nothing looked different, but when I updated my entries from the LoC, I got all of the Dewey and LoC Classification numbers. Now Dewey Decimal and LoC Classification appear in my list of fields.
