(My english is probably very bad, sorry about that…)
Hi,
I recently upgraded my Ubuntu to Lucid (10.04 LTS), and along with it updated Tellico (according to Help → About Tellico, I have now "Tellico Version 2.1.1 Using KDE Development Platform 4.4.5 (KDE 4.4.5)").
With this new version, there is two new fields that were created, Date Created and Date Modified, both in a created "Personal" category (as you can see here). The thing is, I don't want nor need these two fields, but I can't delete them as they don't appear in the current fields list in Collection → Collection fields.
Is there any way I can at least hide them?

Newer versions of Tellico do indeed hide them, I didn't go back to check to see what version that was implemented, but the current release is 2.3.4.

I have the more recent version available on my distrib, I would't have thought it to be such an old one!
Anyway, glad to see the two fields are hidden on newer versions.
Thanks for the answer!

Edit: So, I compiled Tellico to install the latest version. Now the two fields are hidden, but the "Personal" category is still here, empty… : http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/5498/tellico.png

Edit bis: Actually, the two fields are only hidden with a template that regroups fields into category (like "fancy" or "default"), in which case, the "Personal" category is still here, empty (see above)…
With the "compact" template, the two fields are not hidden.

I'll fix that for the next release. If you want to use the any of the templates before then, grab them from https://projects.kde.org/projects/extragear/office/tellico/repository/revisions/master/show/xslt/entry-templates

I don't think I'll hide it in the Compact view. That's the one that's meant to show everything.

Works fine, thanks!

If I may, I think the best thing would be to have an option, in Configure Tellico, to show them or not (in which case, it shows them -or not- in every template).
And a way to change the name of the fields and category would be nice, too (cause, you know, "Date Created" when, in my case, all the other fields are in french, well…)

The translation is definitely an issue, since you can't edit the title since those date fields are hidden from the field editor. Normally, when the translation for Tellico is improved, the default field titles are updated, too, but that didn't work for these fields.
If you really want to change them, you'd have to export to XML and edit the XML file directly, and then resave. ;)

Always good to know, but I think i'll pass for now ;D
Anyway, thank you for your time! It probably doesn't show with all I said here, but I really love this soft!
