Hello,
foremost I'd like to how much I love tellico. After I understood some of the things I could do it really is what I was looking for (with minor things on the side). Oh and I hope my english is understandable. Now to my problem. For my english books it all works fine, but is there any way to turn the ISBN-completion or rather the automated formatting off? Amazon.de has a lot of my german books in a 3442354145 format instead of 3-442-35414-5. The ISBN-13, which I don't have for all my books, is formatted as xxx-...... I tried to use the UPC/EAN option but when I enter the last number it thinks it is ISBN and selects that and changes the format. Maybe it is only a problem with my version since I only have 2.2 (Ubuntu 11.4)? Or maybe in another version it can be turned off? Then I would get a newer version. |

Right now now, there's no way to disable that automatic ISBN formatting. Perhaps I should add an option for that. So searching Amazon.de for 3442354145 doesn't work for you, is that what the issue is? The Amazon searches should work whether there are hyphens or not, but there are weird results sometimes. UPC/EAN searches on Amazon are different though, and they are more likely to fail, I think. |

Hello, and thanks for the answer
This option would be nice. Maybe I would have found out that that was not the problem, if I could have turned that off. Since you said it should be possible even with hyphens I tested a little bit around. Turns out I can't find anything at amazon.de and amazon.com. Not even the books I already found and added. My keys seem to be right, I checked. If I search for titles it says something like: Searching .... Results from amazon (USA): 0/288 The search returned no items. If I search for ISBN it says something like: Searching .... The search returned no items. It seems I'm doing something wrong, except I'm doing what worked for the first 250 Books very well. If nobody sees on the spot what I should change, I think I'll try out a newer version and not the one my Ubuntu wants me to use. |

I'm not sure what's going on there. There's nothing you can think of that might have affected Tellico's installation or config? If you run Tellico from the command-line and do the search, does anything show up that might be a clue? |

That is the only thing that shows up. There are other things, but they are there in general not search specific. That I have tellico-20 as the associates ID it correct, is it? Or do I need my own? Or do I have to change the keys every n searches? |

No associates ID is needed and you shouldn't have to change the keys. There's an ongoing problem with Amazon searches that many people are experiencing. Unfortunately, it's not hitting me and I've not been able to figure out the problem. It sounds like you're having the same sort of problem, so I don't think it's you, it's something happening in Tellico that I have not figured out yet. |
