Hello everybody
I decided to try out KDE-4.6 beta 2, and since I knew of Kontact's migration to Akonadi, I also decided to start off with a new .kde4 home directory. Everything is working quite fine, aside from some minor quirks which I have sorted out. However, no matter what I try, I can't seem to make my activities work properly. On the activity bar, I see highlighted an activity with no name, and no matter how many times I try to switch to the other ones, the slider goes back to the unnamed one. If I start Plasma from a terminal, or if I tail .xsession-errors, I see one of this for each switch I try to make:
I tried removing my kdecache dir in /var/tmp, but still this happens, and it's quite a showstopper, activities becoming such a central part of the KDE desktop. Anybody has any idea about this? Thanks in advance GODLiKE.- |

this is almost certainly related to some bugs that were fixed recently in trunk. sorry :/

Hmmm... the strangest thing just happened. I restored some plasma config files which were some days older than the backup of my previous installation, and now I can switch between activities. However the slider stays in the small "unnamed" one, but switching between activities does indeed change the desktop background and widgets.
Is this a known bug? |

I have the same problem with the activity panel. Moreover objects placed on the desktop (files, application icons) do not respond to a double click (application start of file open). All other controls (settings, resizing, rotating) however work.
The same for the widgets in the taskbar: quick access, desktop, tasklit: all these do not respond. If those widgets are placed on the desktop, they have the same faulty behaviour. In the beta 1 version , all worked well. Anybody an idea if this is solvable thanks JoHasp |

I noticed the same thing, but as a "workaround" (within quotes, since I think the workaround works better even if the activity bar didn't suffer from that bug if only because it saves precious screen real-estate): try: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Ac ... 09f27be319

This has been fixed in trunk (although bugs related to activity creation still persist).
