Good afternoon everyone!
First of all, I would like to congratulate all Calligra developers for the great work on 2.4 release. I was really waiting for this release to try a new Office Suite in KDE world. I'm contributing for a long time translating KOffice (and now Calligra) to my language (I'm Brazilian). And now I'm trying to use the new Calligra 2.4 as my standard Office Suite. This is my first post in this forum, and I would like to see if two basic features are missing (or I'm not looking for in the right place) in Calligra Words: spell check and capitalization (change case). I tried in many ways to start the spell checker in Calligra Words but I couldn't. I added a button on Edit toolbar to start the spell checker but it didn't work. Sometimes I got redlines bellow misspelled words, but this doesn't work sometimes also. I think the traditional spell check button should be available at the 'Text editing' panel, but it is not. Should I post this as a feature request at bugzilla? Another basic feature is the capitalization (option to convert the text to UPPER CASE, low case, etc). A button at 'Text editing' panel would be great. I found a work around to this issue assigning a keyboard shortcut to 'Change Case' function. But a panel is showed and I should select one of the available options. The better would be to use the shortcut to cycle between the options, as in LibreOffice or MS Office. Again, should I post this as a feature request at bugzilla? Thanks in advance for any help on this issues. Thanks also for the great work in Calligra 2.4! Spellchecking as in a seperate window is not there, and no i don't think it's worth it to add such a request. We are well aware of it., but we have disabled the review pane in the sidebar for the 2.4 and probably also 2.5 releases
That said the automatic spellchecking should just work, though you may have to select your language and have the right dictionaries installed (hunspell, unspell, aspell should all be found) As for the idea you have with changing case, yes please make a wish for that. And thank you very much for the kind words |

Thank you for your prompt answer.
I could to make the spellcheking to work if I select all text in a document and after this I select to spell check. After I close and open the document, all misspelled words marked are not marked, and I should repeat the procedure. I'm not sure if this is a compilation problem of my Calligra Words or this is the standard behavior of Calligra Words. The automatic spellchecking is selected in all cases. Anyway, I will follow the new releases to see the spellchecking improvement.
