I've set up an A4 landscape page layout and put eight rectangular, uniform boxes evenly filling the page so I can write text in each box.

I realise now I also want to have this on the reverse side of the page, so I can print back to back. How do I do that from where I am? Or can I even do that?

Solved that one. I did it the long way round and redid it with a page break. And now the next question.

Does anybody know how to rotate the direction of a paragraph??

And what I mean by that is turn a paragraph / block of text upside down (literally reversed). So text is viewable as normal if you turn the paper around.
