I know, I know, I am just using the work of others. :D

In any case, I have been using the Calligra Suite for a couple of weeks now. I really like the interface, and the import of MS documents is superb. However, I need certain features to use Calligra in my daily work, and they go beyond file sharing--something I can usually work around.

First, I was unable to copy charts from one application to another. For example, I had a series of data in Sheets with which I created a chart. I set all the parameters on the chart and I was ready to move it to my Words document where I was writing a report. however, I could not see a way to copy a chart from Sheets and paste it into Words. It would be very convenient to be able to copy as many objects/shapes as possible between Calligra applications. (From my reading on the WWW, that seems to be the goal, though not explicitly stated to my knowledge)

Second, I was unable to change the page size in Flow. So, thinking I was clever, I created a blank ODG document in LO Draw and saved it. When I opened the document in Flow I got an error that Flow was unable to open the document.

Third, I need to create Words documents with a particular JPG as the background. While I am able to do this by a lot of clicking, the document is not usable in Words, but it works in LO. (I have a dead-end thread on this.) I did see a background color setting in the Styles>>Decorations>>Background, and a place for further information. I was wondering if in the future there could be a background image dialogue.

Manipulating headers/footers was very difficult for me. I found it is impossible to change the size of a header in Words such that I could make the header further down the page, i.e. if I wanted the header to be from 92 to 145 pts, I am unable to do so, if I try and make the bottom of the header further down the page; it simply resets to its "default" value. Some of the documents I work on have very particular, and peculiar, header/footer configurations. It would be great if I could manipulate them in the future.

Now, I understand Calligra is a newer project, so I am not really whining--as it develops I can still use LO if something is missing so I can still feed my family ;) . it is just that, if I was a developer and daily user of this package, these are the things I would look at to improve the user experience. I really like the suite and its interface, and I try and use it first and go back to LO only if time is critical (I am not 100% familiar with the details of the interface) or if I need a particular feature.

The best way to request features and report bugs (ie your flow problem or the problem with words background) would be to use help->report bug :)

It opens a bug-report window. Is there a separate place for feature requests?

Well we do read the forum, and if features make sense we add it to our wiki. But you are right the bugzilla is not really suited for features, at least not larger features, like the ones you mention for words

And regarding those: background image is indeed no thought into the ui yet, and neither is manipulating headers and footers. We have a very basic ui for headers and footers but we have plans to improve that. Nut as you say we are still evolving, and right now I can't tell you when we will get around to these things. Rest assured, it will come, and we _do_ read the forum, so just post here :)
