Text component needed

Tue Dec 11, 2012 8:20 am
Hi, I am using Arch Linux and just installed Calligra-word. But when I tried to open it I received the message 'cannot find needed text component'. What else must I install to get this to work? I don't need the other elements of Calligra, just word.

I don't know arch linux, but you need calligra common stuff for sure, not sure what that package is called in arch.

Also it may be a build error, if you have Qt 4.8.0 or 4.8.1

If you have recently installed Calligra, you may need to rebuild the Sycoca:
Code: Select all
kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental

Thanks for your replies. Perhaps the way to go would be to install KDE instead of Xfce. Correct?

Installation of KDE should not be necessary - but if it is still not working you may need to install the Kate Part - which should be dragged in if you install KWrite.

I doubt it's a KDE og sycoca issue. Please tell what qt version do you have?
