So I'm still working on my icon set, Betelgeuse. I was thinking about a solution for Calligra icons for it. But in the middle of the proccess I found out that the current Calligra logo is, in my humble opinion, ugly and unmanageable (and I'm not talking about the old Koffice logo, that was kind of cool; I'm talking about this). So I decided to think about that and I came over this idea:
I was playing with the 'C' shape and came over the first idea (at left). I liked it but it wouldn't work for a monochrome application, so I came over the second proposal, at the right. I noticed that it also remembers a bit the 'K' shape, and did the third idea (at center). What do you guys think about it? Is there any way to propose it to Calligra development team? Thanks. |

In my humble opinion, ugly and unmanageable (too ordinary and similar to C letter).
Regarding Betelgeuse, interesting. Do you use vectors to make them? |

Well, the similarity to C letter was the point. Actually, I don't get why you think is also ugly and unmanageable. But well... I'll take it.
Yep, SVG with Inkscape (don't make me start about why Karbon is unusable yet). Sources are in http://gitorious.org/betelgeuse/betelgeuse-sources. |

By the way. If you're asking what's missing in Calligra - we have no application logos, just oxygen icons. No monochromatic logos like MS has this year - http://carlosjj.deviantart.com/art/Micr ... -315100588. Logos are sometimes useful. I'd like to see ideas from talented people like you.

This logo reminds me of flower.
I don't know what Calligra and flowers have in common, so maybe this is not the best association. Perhaps not intended. But well, it came into my mind, and since you were asking about opinions...
Best regards
