I just installed Calligra to check it out. So far, I like Words, and Sheets has worked well enough for the little bit of work I've done.

However, I'm also a krunner addict, and unfortunately, when I try to launch Words, Author, Sheets, or Stage by typing "words," "sheets," etc. in krunner, the applications don't appear in the dropdown menu.

If I try "calligra words," "calligra sheets," etc. in krunner, I get the following message:

Error - Calligra Opener.
Mimetype for file://[~/]{words, sheets, stage, author} not found!

with my home directory in place of the '[~/]'

I've been using the run menu in my distro to open Words and Sheets, which works fine, but that's nowhere near as satisfying. Hit Meta, then O, then an arrow key!? ;D

I tried to fix the issue by adding "Calligra Words" to the top of the preference order in System Settings > File Associations for .odt, and nothing changed.

BTW, entering "flow," "calligra flow," "kexi," and "karbon" in krunner opens those applications up without trouble.

Hi,
Please try calligrawords, calligrasheets, calligrastage, calligraplan. The "calligra" prefix was added by us to the raw application (binary) names because "words", "sheets", and so on are too generic words that (you see - I used "words"!) and we preferred to avoid potential clashes now or in the future. Kexi, Krita, Karbon are more unique names so they are not prefixed.

I understand entering almost the full "calligrawords" is suboptimal. Perhaps there is a way to enable meaning of "words" as "calligrawords" in the KRunner. I imagine that could be asked on respective forum of KDE Plasma.

If you enable the "Applications" runner, then it is plausible a query of "Words" would match Calligra Words.
