I'm trying to get Calligra Words to flow text along a vertical circle, but only get text flow around the invisible box around the circle.
Is not possible in Calligra to do this? Thank you |

Hi
I saw your post and thought I would try it. Using Calligra 2.8.1 in Kubuntu Trusty, I inserted from the "shapes" / geometrics / elipse: an elipse. I then copied and pasted several paragaphs of "Lorem Ipsum" and it flowed neatly around the "bright green round ball" and made a neat round outline. It did NOT flow around the "drag/resize" box to form a square outline. I would post an screenshot from Photobucket but, unfortunately Photobucket is "down for maintainence" if you would want me to post it later I will be glad to so do. So, possibly it is your version of Calligra or status of updates. If you could post your version/update status, OS etc. a developer might be able to address your concerns. woodsmoke |

It's a BUG!!!
If you apply a shadow to a internal created shape (not a imported SVG shape) the text flow around the "drag/resize" box, not the shape contour. But (and here is the more strange issue) if you disable the shadow (I'm not talking about "undo", just disable the shadow), text continues flowing around that box!!!!! But going far away, if you insert an SVG shape, I can get to flow the text around the shape in anyway : ( Too much problems |

You must take into account that "others" will have the same problem if they apply a shadow to the shape. So it's not all "right".

@rafaelmrc: What you describe with the shadows does indeed sound like a bug.
We, the developers, would be most grateful if you could go to bugs.kde.org and register this bug with a clear step-by-step description of how to reproduce it. That way it will not be forgotten, which is always a risk when the only place we know about the bug is the forum. |

You are right about reporting this bug. I did it just after my last post here.
On the other way, I have twelve KDE bugs published, but I'm near tired about seeing most of them was not confirmed by anyone, cause they are easy at least to confirm, like this bug. Sorry, but is my feeling about "KDE bugs" . Of my twelve bugs reported, only two of they are in other state than UNCOnfirmed, but the rest, are all unconfirmed, like if no one take a look to them to say "Yes, we take a look about your report and will do something about when we have time". I like to help community to identify problems, but I would like to see that "someone" (some developers) take a look to my bug reports, same way you ask me to publish this like a bug. Thank you |

Heh, you shamed me into confirming the bug immediately.
I think the reason for your bad bug reporting experience is because many projects (including Calligra) is much understaffed. But I'll try to at least keep on top of the bugs of Author and Words. |
