Sort is disabled

Fri Jul 24, 2020 2:35 pm
Could someone tell me why, on my simple 3 column table, that the sort option is always grey (disabled)? I have a column of text followed by two columns of numeric data. I would like to sort the rows by either of those two columns, but no matter where on the table I click, the "sort" option is always grey.

Have you tried selecting (click and drag) all the cells that contain data and text? Then the sort option is enabled for me.
It seems that however when selecting whole columns sorting is not possible, so it likely requires a finite selection.

This must have some kind of a bug. I created my table, saved, and then tried to sort. No luck, as I described. Today, I go back to my computer, open the table, select some data, and sort is enabled (go figure). I still can't make it do what I want, but at least it's enabled. I'm trying to have it sort the second column (numeric, in ascending order, please), while keeping the row together. This is going to take a whole lot of playing around to make something sensible happen.
