Would it be possible to change the list of dictionary providers in the Parley browser widget? To me this list seems rather random.

The list is now set up in the browserwidget.cpp in the function BrowserWidget::setupProviders(). Of course I could change the source code to include my favorite providers, like e.g.:
Code: Select all
provider.name="En-De dict.cc";
provider.url="http://www.dict.cc/?s=\\{@}";
provider.languages << "en" << "de";
m_providers.append(provider);
providerComboBox->addItem(provider.name);

But I think it would be much preferable to have either
  • a possibilty to add providers within the GUI or
  • to have a possibility to change providers in one or multiple config-files (probably even offering downloadable additional providers [= corresponding config-files] within the GUI).

I would recommend making a feature request either in the Brainstorm, or at bugs.kde.org concerning this so the developers can evaluate it.

Thanks for the hint. Sorry, for posting this in the wrong section. I opened an idea in Brainstorm: http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=83&t=117531
