KMahJonng custom layouts

Wed Oct 16, 2019 8:57 pm
There doesn't appear to be a way to load layouts created with the Board Editor. I created a new layout and an accompanying .desktop file, copied them both into /usr/share/kmahjonng/layouts, but the new layout doesn't appear in the Configure-Board Layout menu. The procedure for adding a new layout is not documented.

Re: KMahJonng custom layouts  Topic is solved

Yuri Chornoivan sent me instructions for adding custom layouts to the KMahJonng Config-Board Layouts.
1. Create a new directory ~/.local/share/kmahjonng/layouts.
2. Save your Board Editor layout into that directory.
3. Create a desktop file using the name of your layout.

For example:
Save as ~/.local/share/kmahjonng/layouts/myNewLayout.layout
Open kate, add entries using an existing desktop file as a template and save it as ~/.local/share/kmahjonng/layouts/myNewLayout.desktop
myNewLayout will appear in Config-Board Layouts at the top of the list (restart KMahJonng, if necessary)
myNewLayout.desktop
Code: Select all
[KMahjonggLayout]
Name=myNewLayout
Description=A layout I created
VersionFormat=1
Author=My Name
AuthorEmail=My Email Address
FileName=myNewLayout.desktop
