Greetings! I'm new to Linux, so I'm hoping I'm not asking an insufferably basic question. Searching the Web and this forum didn't elucidate, so:
I've installed Palapeli and the installation seems to have been OK and the program launches without any warnings, etc. The gist of it: I can select puzzle pieces (double-click) but I cannot drag them. My system info: Kernel: 4.15.0-54-generic x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 7.4.0 Desktop: Cinnamon 4.2.3 wm: muffin dm: LightDM Distro: Linux Mint 19.2 Tina base: Ubuntu 18.04 bionic |

You don't have to double-click a piece to move it, just point on it with the cursor, hold and drag.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Yes, this is how it should work, but that is not happening for me. Are there any software prerequisites that I have missed? FWIW, I am using a pretty fresh-out-of-the-ISO installation of Linux Mint, Cinnamon desktop. Thanks again! |

if you installed it through system repositories the dependencies should be in. You are running outside of Plasma, so maybe there are other settings that are in the way.
You can always configure the Mouse interaction in the Settings -> Configure Palapeli -> Mouse interaction. Does this help?

Well, that's interesting.
When changing the 'move pieces by dragging' option, I get the mouseover text 'Hold down the modifier keys you want, then click a mouse button or scroll a mouse wheel here'. It sees the modifier key but doesn't recognize the mouse click. However, I can toggle the setting between 'Left Button' and 'Input Here' with a single (left) mouse-click. Curiouser and curiouser! Thanks for all the help. |

Mabe this is related to an unusual mouse? I use a Logitech MX Master and it just works out of the box.

Hmmm. It's a Logitech B100, so probably no issues there.
I'm just going to have to assume it's related to my lack of Plasma. I can't think of any other explanation for this. Thanks for your insights. |

Right, that might well be it, as shortcuts are different in different desktops
