I am using Debian testing/squeeze and the new KDE4.2.2 is now in the repositiories.

Having upgraded, I notice that many libraries were taken out from the KDE3*, including Ktron. This is a shame 'cos I really used to like that game.

What's happening with it and how do I get it back?

KTron appears to be present on my KDE 4.3 system, I thought it was already part of KDE 4.2...

According to apt-get:

sudo apt-get install ktron
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree

Using apt-cache search, a small handful of non-KDE applications are shown, but that's that.

I take it from your comment that this is a Debian issue rather than a KDE-related issue?

The game is being reintroduced to KDE4 in KDE 4.3.

OK - sounds good. Will that also include Kate (which also seems to have been dropped and is probably not worth a thread of its own if the reason is the same)?

Kate is now part of KDE SDK, and was definitely part of KDE 4.1.
