After going to another page and then coming back to the page where I left kshisen open. I find it reduced to just the titlebar. I have no idea what action would cause this or how to recover except to close kshisen and then restart it.

By title bar do you mean just the window decoration ( the bar with the minimize, maximize and close on it ) or do you mean the Panel area where application tasks are displayed.

Which of the two I listed was the correct one? The Panel area?

Sorry. The top portion of a running application that includes the name, minimize and maximize buttons and the quit button.

It's probably shaded - try to double click on the window decoration.
You can configure this in System Settings -> Window Behavior -> Titlebar Actions -> Titlebar double-click. Under Advanced tab you can enable hover, to make it "unshade" when you hover over the titlebar.

Or you right-click it, and see if "Shade" is checked.
