How does "ark slows down my context menus a lot"? you mean too many context menu items are an issue? or something else?

if your problem is that so many items slows down your context menus you can always not display them (disable in dolphin/konqueror settings under services).

there's xarchiver (gtk), xarchive (gtk), peazip (qt, not kde) and fileroller (gnome), I don't think there's any other kde4 gui archiver frontends. Peazip definitely displays in the context menu, the others might.

not quite sure how ark slows down the menu, but with it installed right clicking a file/folder takes 1-2 secs and without it the right click is instantaneous. Thanks for the links :)
