Hi,

I have a simple question about the batch mode of the Kstars calculator section. What do the input files have to look like? I would help having an example for each one.
If they are ascii, what one would asume, what have to be written in them?

Would be nice to have anything said about in the documentation.

regards

I would recommend sending an email to the kde-edu@kde.org mailing list about this, as the developers are the ones who will be able to tell you what the format is.

I first startet out with that mailing list some years ago and pointet out that question already and not for once. The answers were not satisfying and slightly arrogant. It seems that the actual developers do not have an interest in profiding some users with any demo file in this field.

That's why I finaly turned to this forum in hoping there may be someone who worked with the batch mode already and could provide me with a demo file.
At least a demo file would do, because I can then set up my own scripts to built such files for any catalogs or sources list.

I offert the developers this part, too, but this was the point where there answer was arrogant.

Apologies that you had such a negative experience. Unfortunately I don't use KStars myself, so I am unable to provide further guidance there.

It's not your fault.

Maybe I do have to debug the source to get to know what data the input files have to look like. But if it is so, then it'll be downgraded on my todo list, because there are other programmes that do the trick.

So what good is Kstars then for?

My own implementations are not that comfortable, but they are optimized for precision and speed.
