My problem is simple but strange.
I would like to have a remote control working.
In this way I have installed irkick and krcdnotifieritem, and I have observed that irkick works only with KDE3 software (and it works fine on my OpenSuse 12.1).
Nevertheless, even if krcdnotifieritem has detect my remote control (hauppauge) it seems that it never receives any command. Neither changing mode (music, video, ...) nor command executing works.

Could you help me please.

Have you ensured that irkick and kremotecontrol are not trying to both run at the same time?

Yes, yesterday I have tried many combination. Irkick and krcdnotifieritem runinng in the same time, just one, just the other with a check of processes running via the "ps aux" command. But nothing changed.

This morning, after a shut-down and a reboot, the kde environment has started without irkick and with krcdnotifieritem.
And surprise, it works !

I don't know why, but it seems that it's like for the lirc configuration file. Some changes require a not only a reboot but a shut-down.
