Ark preview colors

Tue Feb 07, 2012 7:48 pm
Hello,

I like to change a color (that of the comments) in the preview of source files. Ark obviously uses katepart for this, but I don't know where to configure it for ark.

Thanks,
Maik

I am guessing you have configured Kate itself to follow your desired preferences here?

You may need to copy a section of the Kate configuration file into Ark's configuration file.

Re: Ark preview colors  Topic is solved

I've actually find-grep'ed for the hex color code I've configured in kwrite (lowercase: a62e2e). This found me the file
Code: Select all
$(kde4-config --localprefix)/share/config/katesyntaxhighlightingrc

The two interesting sections are http://paste.kde.org/205502/ for kate and http://paste.kde.org/205508/ for kwrite.

I wasn't sure if it's a good idea to mess around randomly in there. However I just copied the kwrite section and there altered
Code: Select all
[Default Item Styles - Schema kwrite - Normal]

to
Code: Select all
[Default Item Styles - Schema ark - Normal]

And what do you know, it worked :D

I'll check the bug database if a request for a katepart config dialog for ark was filed and will file one if not, but this is a straight forward workaround for the time being.

Thanks,
Maik
