Is Skrooge slow?

Thu Oct 03, 2013 2:28 pm
I am new with Skrooge and I am testing it. I come from GNUcash.

By now, I like Skrooge, and it seems to fill all my needs (I still have to learn how to use budget well), but with some 'trivial' features it seems to be really really slow.

For example, when I got the credit cards bills every month and I want to conciliate the transactions I've been noting down in Skrooge along the last month, Skrooge takes easyly 3-5 seconds for every click. It may seem small, but if you have to check 30 to 40 transactions, it is really hard.

Is this normal? or maybe I have anything wrong with my pc/skrooge?

I am using release 1.7.4 modified according the bug #325174 and I have unchecked the 'calculate balances' option.

Thanks!

Hi,

No, bad performance is not normal.

I am the main developer of Skrooge, could you help me by doing that?
From a console
1-export SKGTRACEPERFO=1
2-skrooge
3-Tool/Restart profiling (Ctrl+Pause)
4-Play your scenario (creation of a new operation)
5-Tool/Open profiling (Alt+Pause)

Thank you for your help.
6-Copy the text in the opened page
7-Send me this text by email (you can find my email address in the about of Skrooge)

For all,

With JesusM traces, I was able to find a way to improve performance.
This will be available in next 1.8.0 version.
