Newby on 1.8 facing UI bugs

Wed Sep 17, 2014 11:24 am
Hi,

I'm new to Skrooge, like it a lot but some UI bugs make me feel quite frustrated using it. :-\

Version 1.8.0/4.13.3 on Lubuntu 14.4

I have accounts in more than one currency, main one is €, but in my Accounts tab I see the amount of an e.g. AU$ account also in €, the value is not converted. So if I add all three columns, Todays amount, Amount and Amount entered only the 2nd will show me the correct currency symbol while the actual numbers are identical. Same does happen in the Operations tab for the account and on the dashboard.
Here is a screenshot: http://www.imagesup.net/?di=9141085921412

I guess that changed after I downloaded the exchange data, but it keeps telling me 'history for SGDEUR=X not found on yahoo', same for AUD.
In any case on the dashboard in 'Banks full' everything is still € and unconverted.

- account names of different banks need to be unique, so I'm not able to have 2 accounts called 'Savings' under different banks
- selected columns dont get saved, automatic resize status doesnt get saved (or do i have to save that for each account, can I somehow have the same columns setup for all accounts?)
- about 50% of the time i drop into the menu 'group by' when i actually want to stay in the 'colums' menu, a slight movement of the mouse is enough to get it wrong, but that's just me maybe :)

this one is most frustrating:
- in the Operations tab, if I add a column, lets say 'Comment' it will always also add the column 'Income' which I dont want and other colums which i want to keep get removed.
Note: This also happens to me on 1.9.3beta, e.g. I cant remove the Tracker column, but when I try other colums get removed.

Best regards

You have to define the value of AU$ in "Unit" page.

If the unit amount can not be downloaded from "Yahoo Finance", you can entered it manually.

This is normal and wanted to avoid misunderstanding.

See documentation here:

I am not able to reproduce this issue.

Could it be connected to having the skg file saved in a encfs encrypted folder? It happens there, but works fine with a new file in a non-encrypted folder.

I imported from csv, this is a sample line:
"date";"account";"number";"mode";"payee";"comment";"quantity";"unit";"amount";"sign";"category";"status";"bookmarked";"id";"idtransaction";"idgroup"
"2013-10-10";"my account";"0";"";"";"foo bar baz";"55";"€";"55";"+";"";"N";"N";"10523";"10523";"0"

the import works fine, the comment of the operation is "foo bar baz", now when I do Tools > Clean bank's imports, all first words of my operations' comments get cut and pasted into the mode field. So that mode holds 'foo' and the comment only 'bar baz'.

No. I think that this could occurs when you move some columns before adding or removing some of them.

"Clean bank's imports" must be used after an import from "Bankperfect".
