Fake transaction while conciling

Thu Jan 01, 2015 12:16 pm
Hello,

I use to concile accounts often, specially wallet accounts. And usually there is some gap between expected and how much I actually have on my pocket.

Skrooge gives me the option to introduce a "fake transaction" with the needed amount, but this transactios has little information: no category, nor payee, and the comment doesn't match what I would need.

This makes me to do a double operation: first add the fake transaction and then to modify it accordingly.

Is there any way to pre-configurate all this information so the transaction could be inserted at once?

Thanks!

Hi,

There is no way to pre-configurate the fake operation.
Your solution is the only one.
Nevertheless, as developer of Skrooge, I can propose you this:
1-Skrooge creates a fake operation as today
2-Skrooge memorizes the identifier of the operation
3-You update the fake operation
4-When a new fake operation is created, the last memorized one is used to retrieve category, payee and comment

What do you think about this proposal?

Uhmmm ... how I make Skrooge to memorize the transaction?

Because I've created several times a fake transaction and Skrooge never used the info os my modified ones. So, or I am doing something wrong or the way you say doesn't work. Probably the first.

This is not possible yet.
My proposal is a proposal of enhancement of Skrooge.

What do you think about this proposal of enhancement?

Ah! Maybe due the afterparty I didn't get you :)

That would be great, I think it could be a great solution.

(And, if at same time you could make that the 'comission' at buy/sell shares operations could be assigned to a predefined catagory, that could make 2015 as a great year, hehehehe)

Thanks a lot for yout work!!

Will you publish sources? I use Slackware and use to compile using Slackbuilds scripts.

Thanks

Sources are already available in git:
http://quickgit.kde.org/?p=skrooge.git

A tar file will be published too.

I'll wait for the tar.

One of my New Year's resolutions for 2015 is learning how to use git :<

Thanks again!

Hi again,

sorry for the late testing. I've conciled to pocket accounts and for the second one I had to modify the face transaction as well. The memorization of the transaction is account based? I mean, I should do it onec for every account and the second time for same account it will work and recall my options?

If not ... it doesn't work (or I don't know to use it)

Thanks!!

Hi,

In fact, I preferred to define default values in settings.
So, you have first to see the "Operation" page of settings.

These settings are for all accounts.

Regards.
