When I am creating a new transaction, I usually start with an existing one, modify a field or two and click <Add> to create a new one. This works fine for things like my electricity bill: I just change the date and amount from last month, <Add> it, and I'm good. Later, I'd confirm the payment with my bank -- "pointing" it in Skrooge-terminology -- when reconciling my balance at the end of the month (or whenever).
But the behavior of "Add new transaction" seems to have changed in ver. 1.12.5. New transactions now show up "pointed". This happens whether I'm copying a "pointed," checked, or un"pointed" and unchecked transaction. After creating each new transaction, I now have to go and un"point" it until statement reconciliation time. Is this a bug or a new feature? If a feature, is there a setting to turn it off? Thanks |

Hello,
Check that you have finish your reconciliation before adding new operation. You have to check the green mark to end reconcilation mode. When you are in reconcilation mode, added operation are systematically pointed. Yes, it's new. Remark: if you add operation copy with splits, check date of splitted operations before adding because a bug let old dates in split sub-operations that are not in phase with new added operation. |

I had completed the last reconciliation -- I had checked the green checkmark. However, that was not enough. I hadn't also clicked the purple return arrow with the cryptic hint "Switch information". I would not have suspected that. Clicking that curly arrow prevents new transactions from being "pointed". |
