Hi,

I am using Xubuntu 15.10 and just installed Skrooge from the repos. (version 1.9.3 beta) and some icons are missing as you can see here :
https://framapic.org/bgvFVHi7p4mS/hc5fJQ09

I compiled it from sources : no icons at all. Only the relevant text on the left handside of the main window.
I used the KF5 version from ppa:s-mankowski/ppa-kf5 : same as above.

I think that there is a lib missing, but which one ? Or may a KDE service not running ?
Many thanks,
Rémi.

Do you have the same issue with breeze-icon-theme installed?

sudo apt-get install breeze-icon-theme

Thanks for your reply.

breeze-icon-theme is already installed, I reinstalled it, rm -rf .skrooge and even the skrooge.rc in ~/.config : still the same as the screenshot above.
All the best,
Rémi.

Hi,

Could you try this?
1-From the console, launch the following command:
systemsettings5
2-Go in "Icon" section and choose Breeze
3-Launch Skrooge

I had to install systemsettings to have it (I am using Xubuntu). systemsettings5 has no icons too and no icons section..

It seems that I need to have a proper KDE desktop fully installed. I would have thought that when compiling skrooge tou were able to use with or without KDE. That would be great :)

FYI, skrooge-2.1.1/build/share/icons/hicolor/ is empty.

Launching skrooge from terminal gives me :

Code: Select all
##WARNING: Could not find drkonqi at /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/drkonqi
##WARNING: QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified
##WARNING: KServiceTypeTrader: serviceType "ThumbCreator" not found

Thanks, maybe it is a problem only with Xubuntu.
All the best,
Rémi.

Hi,

You don't need to fully install KDE.
But, sure, KDE applications will use KDE settings.
So, did you successfully did that:
1-run systemsettings5
2-Go in "Icon" section
3-Select "Breeze" set of icons and valide

After that, do you have icons in Skrooge?
Regards.

In order to have systemsettings5 on Xubuntu, I had to apt-get install systemsettings

There is no "Icon" section, only a very few items and those one don't have their proper icons as well.

May be I have to specify an option in the compilation command line ?
Thanks :)

Could you do that and relaunch systemsettings5?
sudo apt-get install libkf5style5

I apt-get install -reinstall this lib (it was installed) and I have the same systemsettings5 as before :

So dependances seems to be missing on Xubuntu ?

Thanks,
Rémi.

Hi,

I understood the issue.
If you are ready to install more packages, could you install the plasma-workspace?
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install plasma-workspace

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, it is the same as before. I even tried to recompile skrooge from sources.
I wonder what is the name of the missing package. Maybe it a KDE service that needs to be active ?
Thanks,
Rémi.
