Need some start up understanding

Thu Jan 21, 2016 7:31 pm
HI all:
I am attempting to use Skrooge but am having some problem understanding concepts . I understand when I create a bank account such as checking or savings the initial balance should be positive such as 200.00.
Now my lack of understanding. If I create a Credit Card or a Loan, Mortgage would the initial balance be negative such as -200.00?

If I am in my checking account and spend some money would I enter that as a negative amount?

If I am in my checking, savings account and transfer some money to a loan account would the amount entered be a negative amount?

If I am in my Credit Card account and spend some money would the amount entered be negative?

Thank you for your help. For some reason I Just could not make sense of the concepts in the manual.

Yes, you can.

Yes, the first time.
Next time, Skrooge will use the category to know is the value is positive or negative.
You have to use the sign (+ or -) to force it.
