Hello,
Thanks for the help. I'm new to Skrooge, and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any pointers appreciated.

Problem:
Even though the KDE Locale has the currency symbol set to "$", Skrooge always shows the currency symbol as "US$".
Changing the KDE Local currency symbol to "$" or "USD" or "US$" has NO EFFECT on Skrooge. Skrooge always shows the currency as "US$".
I tried to set the regional settings three ways:
1) "K->Settings->System Settings"
2) "kcmshell4 language" from a console
3) "systemsettings" from a console
Skrooge ignored all of the above, and always displayed "US$".

I'm having this problem in both Debian and Mint:
* Debian 8.2 Jessie KDE, all updates installed
-- Skrooge Version 1.9.3BETA, Using DKE Development Platform 4.14.2
* Ubuntu Mint 17.3 Rosa KDE, all updates installed
-- Skrooge Version 1.8.0, Using KDE Development Platform 4.14.2

Test procedure:
* Set the Locale "Currency symbol" to "$".
-- K->Settings->System Settings
-- Money tab
-- Currency symbol: $
-- Apply
* Reboot
* Verify that the Locale currency symbol is still "$".
-- K->Settings->System Settings
-- Money tab
-- Currency symbol: $ <- verify
* Open Skrooge
* Click on "Accounts"
* Skrooge still shows "US$" (not "$") in "Initial balance:", "Minimum limit:", and "Maximum limit:".
* Import a QIF file.
* Click on "Accounts"
* Skrooge still shows "US$" (not "$") in "Initial balance:", "Minimum limit:", "Maximum limit:", and in all Bank entries.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for the help.

Hi,

In Skrooge, you can manage more than one currency.
The KDE settings are used to create the default currency no more.
So, now, if you want to change US$ by $, you have to:
1- Go on "Unit" page
2- Click on the US$ currency
3- Select "Manual"
4- Change US$ by $
5- Click on modify
