Hi,
Recently I have started to use the prefix and sufix settings to save backups. I use the prefix to set a different path and therefore be absolutely sure I am using the backup on a network drive. And the sufix to keep backup history adding the date and time. And here is where I have find that <DATE> introduce the current date in the format YYYY-MM-DD. Is this because I have selected ISO format for dates? And <TIME> not only introduces the time but also the date: Cuentas.skg2016-10-02-2016-10-02 18:36:58.old So, i am using now only the <TIME> tag. And now few suggestions: - It would be great if the sufix could be before the .skg extension. - Could be useful to to be able to change the date/time format Thanks a lot Jesus M |

No, this is because this format allows automatic sort in file explorer. This is not the case with DD-MM-YYYY.
<DATE> is better if you want to keep ONLY one backup by day. <TIME> is better if you wan to keep all backups.
Instead of using the filename, I will use the basename when <SUFFIX> is finishing by .skg. So, /temp/myfile.skg will be backup-ed in /temp/<PREFIX>myfile<SUFFIX> instead of /temp/<PREFIX>myfile.skg<SUFFIX>
What is the expected format?

Thanks for the update.
I agree that using the format YYYY-MM-DD is a good idea because is easy to sort, and that's why I use to use the ISO date. I just wanted to know if in the case I change my settings, the suffix would change as well. Good to know that suffix won't change. And about the format. I would like, for example, to avoid blank spaces, or even most of separators. When I need to save files with date/time track I use to name them <whatever>-YYYYMMDD-HHMM minimising the use of separators. Thanks for your work. Jesus M |
