Locked accounts

Thu Dec 01, 2016 2:54 pm
Recently, several of my accounts in Skrooge have become locked.

The 'Add' button is disabled, blocking me from creating new operations. I am still able to import operations from files, but the 'Modify' button is disabled for them. For old operations, the 'Modify' button is enabled and works. I'm also able to 'duplicate' an existing operation, but the availability of the 'Modify' button is inherited from the original operation -- enabled for old ones, disabled on new ones.

Has anybody run into anything similar?

One workaround that I've tried is exporting my .skg file to an sqlite document and importing it into a new .skg, but this didn't work. The accounts in the new .skg were still locked.

Any other suggestions for working around the problem?

I'm running Skrooge 2.4.0 under GNOME on Fedora 24 (x86_64).

Think I figured this out...

First, the accounts weren't frozen. I'd forgotten that the 'Add' button is disabled until a value it entered into the 'Amount' field. There was never really a problem with adding new operations.

Second, the imported operations I was having problems with were not getting their 'Unit' field set. This apparently prevents the 'Modify' button from being enabled, blocking changes to any other fields. Once I set the 'Unit' field, the button is enabled and other changes can be made to the operation.
