Missing icons on Ubuntu 16.04

Fri Mar 03, 2017 1:14 pm
Hi,

I just reinstalled my laptop with Ubuntu 16.04 (Unity) and all the Skrooge icons are missing.

[code
]add-apt-repository ppa:s-mankowski/ppa-kf5
apt-get install skrooge-kf5
[/code]

I was already using this repository before, so I wonder what I missed?
Thanks

You should install breeze icons.

Thanks for your answer but that doesn't work. I installed the "breeze-icon-theme" package then the "breeze" package, but no luck.

I saw this post where you say:

You must launch "systemsettings5" (KDE settings panel) and choose "Breeze" as default icon set.

But I have the default flavor of Ubuntu (Unity), so I don't have KDE ?

In fact, you have some kde components (at least skrooge :-) ).
Did you try to launch systemsettings5 from a console?

Could you install it (sudo apt-get install systemsettings) and change settings?

I installed 'systemsettings' but there is no way to configure the icons set.
The window only displays (translated from French so it may not be accurate):
- workspace : shortcuts
- network : settings, connectivity

I see the same thing. Note that I have Skrooge running on a Linux Mint 18.1 Cinnamon system.

Installing the Breeze icons recently brought in a few missing icons. As far as I can tell, I am only missing a few such as Next Month and Previous Month in the calendar date selector pop-up.

systemsettings version: 4:5.5.5-0ubuntu1
breeze-icon-theme version: 4:5.18.0-0ubuntu1
kde-style-breeze version: 4:5.5.5-0ubuntu1
Skrooge version: 2.8.0
KDE Frameworks 5.18.0
Qt 5.5.1 (built against 5.5.1)

When launching from the console I get:

##WARNING: Icon theme "oxygen" not found.
##WARNING: Icon theme "oxygen" not found.
##WARNING: Error: standard icon theme "oxygen" not found!
##WARNING: KServiceTypeTrader: serviceType "ThumbCreator" not found

I finally made it work!

Add at the end of ~/.config/kdeglobals:

[Icons]
Theme=breeze

and I must say that I don't like this theme :'(
