skroogeconvert: segfault

Mon Jun 12, 2017 1:04 pm
Hello,
I had switched from mint to debian 9, compiled skrooge 2.8.1. from source and tried to open my file created in mint/skroge.2.8.1
It asks for the pass and dont accept is.

i tried to convert my file with skroogeconvert, but all i got is a segmentation fault. :(
i want to convert it to any format that can be imported back to skrooge but cant do it.

Have you any ideas, what to do with this?
the output:
Code: Select all
➜  2.8.1 skroogeconvert --in mon-280.skg --out mon-280.kmy --param=password --value=mypassword
kf5.kcoreaddons.kaboutdata: Could not initialize the equivalent properties of Q*Application: no instance (yet) existing.
################################################
## Import parameters
## password=mypassword
################################################
## Imported file:file:///home/nrob/Documents/skrooge/2.8.1/mon-280.skg
[1]    11824 segmentation fault  skroogeconvert --in mon-280.skg --out mon-280.kmy --param=password

Thanks in advance

Are you sure that your system is well installed?
Could you try to uninstall Skrooge and reinstall it?

I will try it.
i can only remove this and build again from source, because in the debian repos are only the v2.7.1 and i need 2.8.1.
I'll try to rebuild.

So my recommendation:
sudo apt-get remove skrooge
sudo make unistall

Then
sudo make install

same again.
Code: Select all

Sure.
I had started skrooge, imported my .kmy file (what i created in virtualbox/mint/skrooge) and when saved, got a segfault.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Sorry, I was in vacation and your traces are no more available.
If you still have the issue, could you republish the traces?

Apologies for the necrobumping - had the thread been over a year old/not relevant I would have started a new one (but it's neither so...)

Same issue while using Debian Stretch amd64. I can even simplify the crash by saying you don't even have to import from a kMyMoney file first.

Process:
  1. Open Skrooge
  2. Press new (probably not needed)
  3. Open the Accounts tab
  4. Click on Accounts a second time
  5. Save
  6. Specify a file name
  7. Confirm
  8. Profit

The affected log (FWIW, using Skrooge 2.7.1 deb package):
https://pastebin.com/DUtis2A2

Hope this helps. Really interested in checking out the reporting functionality! Also, ability to pull in my old data from HomeBank is a bonus.

Could you generate more traces like this?
export SKGTRACE=10
export SKGTRACESQL=1
skrooge
