[ERR-5]: Import of file named 'file:///media/marc/Data/Donnees/Marc/$Mes Finances/KMymoney/Marc 2008.mny' failed [ERR-8]: Load of 'v_operation' with 'id=2' failed because it was not found in the database I am running skrooge version 1.9.3Beta under Kde 4.14.16 Any idea about the problem ? Thanks |

Hi,
I am the main developer of Skrooge. This seems to be a bug. Could you provide me a sample file to reproduce this issue? If yes, you can do it by email, you can find it in the "About" of Skrooge. |

Thanks for your quick answer.... however I do not have a sample file, the concerned file is a production file, difficult to share. It is an old file from which I intended to look at certain transactions. I am not a MS money user anymore.

I understand.
Could you generate traces by doing this from a console? export SKGTRACE=20 skrooge > t.txt 2>&1 I am not sure that traces will be generated on this old version of Skrooge. But, if you have traces then you can send me them by mail for analysis. Other question: why are you on a so old version based on KDE4? Could you test with the latest version 2.8.1 based on KF5? |

Sorry, I do not understand what you want me to do.
from a console do you mean from a terminal ? Regarding version of Skrooge, I installed it by entering commands (today): sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install skrooge regarding the version of KDE, I suppose that this is the version that was installed when I installed Kmymoney last year. Should it not be automatically upgraded via the Ubuntu software updater. I am running Ubuntu 16.04 and perform updates on a regular basis. Could you please advise. Many thanks. |

Yes
On 16.04, you can install the last version from my ppa: https://skrooge.org/ubuntu_installation And test again.

I tried to re-install from your ppa:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:s-mankowski/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install skrooge But it did not make any update, instead I was warned that the latest version of skrooge was already installed. Regarding the 2 commands, the file t.txt was generated but I could not open with a text editor (gedit). How can I send it to you? Thanks for your patience. Note that in the meantime, I also tried to import 2 kmymoney files, import also failed on one of the two kmymoney file. |

You must install the kf5 version:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:s-mankowski/ppa-kf5 Then try again. |

I did this morning, but skrooge was not installed. The steps were the following
sudo apt-get remove skrooge went Ok, skrooge was removed sudo add-apt-repository ppa:s-mankowski/ppa-kf5 went OK, no error message sudo apt-get update Got following error messages: W: The repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/s-mankowski/ppa/ubuntu xenial Release' does not have a Release file. N: Data from such a repository can't be authenticated and is therefore potentially dangerous to use. N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details. E: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/s-mankowski/pp ... 6/Packages 404 Not Found E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead. sudo apt-get install skrooge-kf5 (note the -kf5) Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/skrooge-kf5-common_2.8.1-0ubuntu1~ppa1_all.deb E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) |

I have now a permanent error message on Ubuntu:
"An error occured, please run package manager from the right-click menu t-get in a terminal to see what is wrong. The error message was: ' Error: Broken count > 0 '. This usually means that your installed packages have unmet dependencies" I then ran in a terminal $ Sudo apt-get remove skrooge and got the following messages: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Package 'skrooge' is not installed, so not removed You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these: The following packages have unmet dependencies: skrooge-kf5 : Depends: skrooge-kf5-common (>= 2.8.1-0ubuntu1~ppa1) but it is not going to be installed E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution). the command 'sudo apt-get -f install' does not solve the problem. What should I do now ? |
