Yahoo finance stopped working  Topic is solved

Sat Nov 04, 2017 9:33 am
Hi,

It seems that Yahoo has stopped working. I was using it to download currency rates.

I have tried the other modules I have installed with Skrooge (Google, Grandtrunk, Stooq, Stooq monthly history, Skrooge) but I cannot make them work (probably because I don't know the "internet code" format).

Any suggestion?

Thanks
JM

EDIT: finally I figured it out how to use GrandTrunk.

Hi,

Yahoo changed the download services.
I did a correction in Skrooge 2.9.0.

Regards.

Hi, I am using 2.10.3 and it doesn't work, but it worked last week (not using 2.10.3 because I have updated it today, but I was using the "beta" updating often from git).

Currently Yahoo shows a message saying something about being used fraudulently and disabled because of that.

Best regards

I finally figured out how to use grandtrunk module and I am using it, but anyway I will test it later.

As always, thanks a lot for your work.

What is the result when you run the following command in a console?
skrooge-yahoodl.py EURUSD=X 2017-11-10 2017-11-11 1d

It seems the problem is that I have not python3 in my system:

Code: Select all
jesusm@liet:~$ skrooge-yahoodl.py EURUSD=X 2017-11-10 2017-11-11 1d
/usr/bin/env: «python3»: No existe el fichero o el directorio

Code: Select all
jesusm@liet:~$ python /usr/bin/skrooge-yahoodl.py EURUSD=X 2017-11-10 2017-11-11 1d
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/skrooge-yahoodl.py", line 36, in <module>
    from six.moves import urllib
ImportError: No module named six.moves

I will try to install it.

EDIT (2): python3 and python3-six installed:

Code: Select all
jesusm@liet:~$ skrooge-yahoodl.py EURUSD=X 2017-11-10 2017-11-11 1d
Date,Open,High,Low,Close,Adj Close,Volume
2017-11-10,1.164524,1.167515,1.162399,1.164687,1.164687,0
2017-11-09,1.159555,1.165257,1.158641,1.159689,1.159689,0

So it is working now.

Thanks

I'm having the same problem, but I have Skrooge 2.10.5 in KDE Neon and I have those python libraries installed (python3 and python3-six).

But anyway, I installed the FinancialTimes plugin and that's working.
