I'm quite new at Skrooge, having just imported two files and started using it.
All imported OK, but when I go to try to reconcile an account, I am stumped. Another post asked about it and was told to be sure that only one account is listed under "show" in Operations. I did that but I still don't see the button the instructions say to click to reconcile. I think I know where and what to look for, but don't see it. Any help would be appreciated. |

If you select an account and use the "Reconcile..." function on contextual menu, you should have the operation page opened with the reconciliation field under the table.
You must enter the target amount, reconcile all operations. When the delta is 0, the big reconcile button appears like on this screen-shot: Regards. |

I'm becoming more familiar with Skrooge, but I still can't find where I can activate a reconcile. I imported two files, each with one account. First, I can't find any place that lists those accounts, other than dashboard. When I right click or left click, I see nothing about the reconcile function.

Open skrooge
"Ctrl+2" to open the "Account" page. Select one account. "Edit/ Reconcile" to open the "Operation" page in reconciliation mode like on my screen capture. |

When I open Skrooge, and press Ctl-2, nothing happens. If I go to "pages", accounts are not listed. If I go to an account in Dashboard and select it, Operations opens up and under Edit, Reconcile is greyed out.
If I right click on it instead of selecting it, the option is to Copy Link location. And I cannot locate your screen shot. I'm not sure what is going on here. And how would anyone know about pressing Ctl-2 in order to bring up accounts if you hadn't told me? I must say, there is a big learning curve with Skrooge and nothing is very intuitive. |

Try Ctrl+Shift+2
You should see the list of account. Could you check that in the "Show" menu, the option "All" is selected? Could you check that you don't have a filter actif (field on the top right of the page)?
Normal, you must do it from the account page. Or directly from the operation page like this: https://docs.kde.org/trunk5/en/extragea ... nciliation
There is many way to go on the "Account" page. The simplest way if from the "Page" dock. To be sure, I gave you the shotcut. You can find all these shortcut in the menu, like in all application. This is not something hidden or strange.
I try to improve this. Did you try to use the documentation (Press F1)? |

CTRL+Shift+2 doesn't work either.
Under "Pages" Accounts isn't an option. "All" is selected. With F1, it says ""Could not launch the KDE Help Center: Could not find service 'khelpcenter'. (Though I've used the handbook a lot.) Don't see "a filter actif (field on the top right of the page)" What page? I'm about to give up and try another Linux compatible finance program. Thanks for your quick response; it just hasn't helped, however. |

Hi,
I don't understand why we are not able to progress. Your questions / issues are so strange for me that I even wonder if you're really on Skrooge. So, If you click on "Accounts" (1), the "Accounts" page will be displayed. If you set "All" in "Show" menu (2) and remove all filters (3), you should see your accounts like this: If you still have the issue, could you put a screen capture here. Regards. |

Welcome to Skrooge 1.9.3BETA
Could "Beta" be the problem? It all seems strange to me as well. Thanks for your attention, however. |

No problem with beta version but ...
... the 1.9.3 version has been published in april 2014 and is based on KDE4. Since the version 2.0.0, Skrooge is based on KDE5. What is your distribution? Anyway, on your version, you should be able to do what I described in my previous tool. Did you do it? |

Will this work? I've never done a screen shot before. You'll notice it doesn't look like yours, in that "Accounts" doesn't appear in the left hand panel. I've tried all your suggestions and reported the results (none) to you. I'm using LInux Mint 18.3, Cinnamon. |

Hi,
I can not see your screen shot if you don't put it on the forum. You must use a service like https://lut.im/ to upload the screen shot and publish here the link of the published image. Regards. |

smankowski, l have read this thread and am also new to Linux and Skrooge but l do follow and understand what you have tried to explain to Kay. I also had difficulties in understanding the "reconcile" and have been using the program for about 2 months now. I had recently received a bank statement and tried to reconcile but not being familiar to the program still am not certain. Fortunately l still have another computer running my Quicken so l am using the two programs until l am comfortable with Skrooge.
I had also downloaded the program using the "Software Manager" and have the Beta 1.9.3 and was wondering if and how l should update it to a "Stable" version , if indeed, is it necessary? Will updates be automatic or must l manually install them? Regards, Dave |

Hi,
I recently discovered that Skrooge could be particularly ugly when an icon theme like "Tango" was used. It seems to me that this is the default case on a Gnome desktop. In addition to being ugly, some icons are missing and make some functions difficult to discover. I have made a correction that will be available in version 2.11.0 which I plan to release in a week. I therefore advise you to use my ppa (see https://skrooge.org). |
