I am interested in switching to Skrooge from Quicken 2017. I tried exporting a QIF and importing into Skrooge, but my account balances appear to be way off. After a little investigating I believe the issue is my paycheck and other split transactions that feature a transfer. My paycheck for example has a large number of splits and deposits funds into 4 different accounts. Skrooge imports the correct salary, taxes and other expenses, and shows uncategorized splits for the other 3 accounts which ends up depositing the correct amount into my primary checking. Then, there are transfers from my checking to the other accounts, so effectively double counting the debits. This leads me to a few questions:
1. Can a single Skrooge transaction reference multiple accounts like I have done in quicken? How is this done? or what is recommended to be done instead? 2. Is there a method to modify the export or import options to clean up this situation? Can the QIF file be cleaned to make it more import friendly? Sorry if this info is available elsewhere, I couldn't find it. |

A single transaction in Skrooge is associated to only one account. But, Skrooge is able to create 2 (or more) transactions in different accounts and to group them.
The is no option. The objective of Skrooge is to import transactions automatically... ... and without error Could you provide me a sample QIF file to reproduce the error? You can find me email in the "About" of Skrooge. QIF files are txt files so, you can remove unneeded operations and sensible information.
