Hi!
On my skrooge file I have an account of PayPal with its balance, and another with my bank account. Sometimes, when making transactions with PayPal I prefer that they charge me in my bank account rather than using PayPal money, so I have 2 operations to log onto skrooge. I think that a solution could be logging a transfer from my bank account to PayPal account and then on the PayPal account make another transaction with the payment, but this would create a duplicate expense on charts. So, how can I log this kind of payments?

P.D. Sorry for my bad English xD

Hi,

In chart, you can choose if you want to take into account the transfers or not.
So, this won't "duplicate expense on charts" if you don't want it.

I found 3 ways to manage paypal transactions, but I'm not sure about what is the most convenient so, I decided to make 3 videos and ask here :)

In the first one, I have made a transfer from my bank account to my paypal account, and then I made the final transaction on the paypal account but, doing it that way I will have 2 transactions on my paypal statement. Video: https://youtu.be/hYgNh1ECjy0

The second way that I found is to make a split transaction on the Paypal account with the transfer and the expense. Video:https://youtu.be/cY-Pg6iTJ9Y

And the last one, is to group both transactions like on that video (I be still having two separated transactions on paypal): https://youtu.be/WIbYI2-ZPdU

I think that the best way to do it is grouping both transactions but I like more having a 0€ transaction on the paypal side as if it was an split transaction, so I'm confused.
Maybe you could implement in a future a way to handle paypal easier.
Thank you very much!

P.S.: Sorry for not having Skrooge in english :-\

Just an idea (it's what I do). When you use PayPal but charging directly to your account instead of using the PayPal balance, why don't just ignore PayPal and add the transaction only in your account? Add the transaction to the PayPal account only when you are using its balance.

But... What about transactions that uses paypal balance and also makes a charge on my bank? (for example if I don't have enough money on paypal). In that scenario, I would want to have the transaction on my bank and the transaction on paypal linked, because I don't want to upload the receipt twice to my skrooge file (It's just that I'm a little bit lazy :D )
If only I could make a transfer from a split transaction... But, that feature is already requested by you XD
I also use other service called Curve that makes something similar to paypal, they give mi a card that links all my bank cards in one, and with my phone y choose what card use any time, and then I have a transaction on the bank side and also on the curve side, so, I think that I will be managing it as Paypal.

Thank you for your help!

Exactly!! But if you also ask for it maybe we will get it done ;) (nah, just kidding, Stéphane already implemented other things I requested and I know he will do when possible)

I am testing Curve now (actually waiting for the card to arrive) and I plan to add the transactions to the card actually used "behind" Curve.
