Hi, I'm slowly getting the hang of importing operations.
It would be nice if import was more informative. As well as the transient success in the footer, it should display a happy green message like 31 operations imported from file named 'file:///path/to/file.csv' I wanted to show only the operations I had just imported. The handbook says under "Import Status", 'Imported Operations have a specific status. Right after import, they are considered as "Imported, not yet validated".' Is the Import status the same thing as the Status column in an operations view? The Status field doesn't seem to have an "Imported, not yet validated" status: newly imported operations appear blue and show an empty Status box whose tooltip says "This operation is not yet pointed". Separately I can right-click an imported operation and choose Open operations with... > Import status = P, but I have no idea what this 'P' is, and if I add the column "Import status", it contains a strange icon like a zipper with a checkmark badge and whose tooltip is a long hex number. So I assume that "Import status" column is not the same thing as this Import Status section in the Handbook. I don't think a "validated" status of an operation is the same as "pointed" status because the Terminology section of the Handbook lists them separately. So how do I validate an imported operation? (neither Terminology nor Import Operations sections of the Handbook say how). Is this what the scary-sounding "Switch validation of imported operations" menu item does? What does Tools > Clean bank’s import do? The handbook says only "Clean operations after imports". I tried it and the footer showed only "Document successfully cleaned"... what happened?! I can Undo it, but I don't see what changed. Does this work on the selection, the current operations view , the entire skg file, or I'm not sure how to turn the two imported operations of a transfer between accounts into a single transfer (elsewhere @salvatorerusso asks the same question). Is this the purpose of Tools > Find and group transfers ? The handbook says only "Create potential transfers". I tried it and it displayed a blue message "No transfers found". Likewise does this work on the selection, the current operations view , the entire skg file, or Is there an equivalent to Quicken's Renaming rules for renaming imported payees? What I typically do after import is to view Payees, and rename "FABRIC OUTLET 436845 SPRINGFIE" to "Fabric Outlet". Thanks for any clarification! I wish I understood what is going on enough to improve the Handbook. |

Good idea!
In "Import", you have an option for that (Page After import/open operations).
No, this is not. An operation imported but not yet validated is in blue.
The status is something else in relationship with reconciliation (used to check that your status is the same than your bank).
The menu "Open operations with..." is a good way to open operations having an attribute with the same value than a selected one.
Again, the import status is just the blue color.
Yes. Ctrl+Maj+V
This is an tool to clean some imports coming from CSV export not really well done (like those from the application bankperfect).
You can use, this tool. This will search operations with same dates in different accounts and opposite amounts and group them. You can do it also manually by doing: 1- Select one or more operations: 2- Group operations (Ctrl+G)
Yes. "Search & Process"
