Failing to import ofx or qfx

Sun Apr 12, 2020 2:01 pm
I just updated Skrooge to version 2.22 and I am having trouble to import ofx and qfx. Is there anyone with the same issue?

[ERR-4]: Cette action aurait cassé l'importation précédente dans « XXY_Cheque... », aussi elle a été annulée.

Hi,

Since 2.22.0, the OFX import use the balance of the OFX file.
In you case, the imported balance seems to be not aligned with the previous reconciliation.
It means that this importation will break the reconciliation.
You can select what to do in this case in settings:

Can you give some informations, or point to specific ressources that describe "[ERR-4]: Cette action aurait cassé l'importation précédente dans « ABC-123 », aussi elle a été annulée." ?
Even if I can disable the messages in the settings, I would like to understand what cause this message.

Hi,

There is no resource about this error.
I modified the documentation to add it.
Just to explain.
1- You did a first import and the "Imported balance" has been set to a value V1.
2- You are doing a second import and the balance of this imported file is not equal to V1 + sum of new imported operations

So, this is may be not normal. This can reveal an error (example: manual deletion of imported operations).
That's why, you have an option to decide what to do in this case.
Regards.

Thanks for the explanations. Just to better understand your description, I will describe my situation with my own words so you can confirm my understanding.

Current setup: Skroooge 2.22.1 // settings "Show an error and undo action" (French: Afficher une erreur et annule l'action en cours)

I have an account named XXY_Cheque who was created with Skrooge previous version. I imported an OFX file with only one transaction. I balanced the account. I made sure to manualy edit the initial value account to 0$.
One month later (received Skrooge 2.22.1 before the importation), I download another OFX file (3 transactions) and imported the file. The imported file failed because of a manual modification of the transactions (adding, removing or editing) and value V1 [ Imported balance ] wasn't equal to the value contained in the OFX file.

Questions:
What is the name of "Imported balance" in the French version of Skrooge?
Is it possible to view the current value and edit it?
Since version 2.22.1, if there is a failed importation and we have the setting "Show an error and undo action" (French: Afficher une erreur et annule l'action en cours), does Skrooge also undo the the V1 overwrite?

"Balance importation".

You can see it in "Accounts" table but this is not editable.

No, only the importation causing the issue is cancelled.
