Hi, I switched to debian which also gave me an updated version of skrooge. I have a skg file that never had a password, now with new install I am unable to open the file, or conert the file.
I looked over https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/60989 from thread viewtopic.php?f=210&t=156198, but this is outdated. I have tried the new skrooge 2.22, i went back to 2.18, then i compiled 2.17 ( my original version). My sqlcipher is not at the version talked about in link. I also manually compiled sqlcipher-3.4.2, and still no luck. The debug log for skrooge shows it database undefined. but I dont understand what database it is trying to open, since it cant open database, it just gives back the incorrect password. I have tried everything I can think of, im currently going back to opensuse on another machine to see if I can open the file. Any help would be appreciated, I really hope I have not lost years of data. |

Hi,
I'm the main developer of Skrooge. Could you check that ? 1- What is the size of your skg file ? Is it something realistic (More than 5MB) ? 2- Is the parent directory accessible in read / write ? 3- Do you have a failure if you try to save and reopen a new skg document ? 4- Could you do that from a console with the last version of Skrooge (2.22) ? export SKGTRACE=5 skrooge 2>&1 > traces.txt Try to open the file Send me the trace file by email (you can find me email address in the "About" of Skrooge) Regards. |

1- skg size is 3.4M
2- parent directory is accessible in read / write. To be extra sure i did a chmod 777 -R /opt, and also moved the file to same location as skrooge compile. /opt/skrooge 3- I do not have failures opening a new document 4- I ran the trace and will send. |

I think I figured out the issue. Debian came with the following:
libsqlcipher-dev/stable 3.4.1-1+b12 amd64 libsqlcipher0/stable 3.4.1-1+b12 amd64 sqlcipher/stable 3.4.1-1+b12 amd64 apparently this does not work, i had to download compile and install 3.4.2 ( I also had to remove 3.4.1, this may be why my initial test of 3.4.2 didnt work) With 3.4.2 I can now open my .skg file. |
