The subject field is limited, but it should be '[IDEA] Scheduled transactions more editable (or improve templates management)'
Hello, currently you can edit scheduled transactions basically by changing the frequency or the next payment date, but what if you need to change the amount (lease payment update, for example), or the account where it is paid from (changing your credit card or bank account)? I think, and emphasize the 'think' part, that if the scheduled transaction is a 'template' and not an 'operation', when you modify it one occurrence, it remains changed for all the future ones, what would be great. But honestly, the difference between operations and templates is, to me, a mister, specially how to use them. Yes, there is some documentation, but I've never been able to fully understand it over the many years I've been using Skrooge. Yes, in a 'operations' view, you can select to see 'operations' or 'templates'. Or even create or apply a template, but then what? how are they managed? Is there any way to actually see all existing templates? Why some of the scheduled transactions I have are templates while others are operations if I did nothing different when creating them? Thanks in advance, and my honest apologies if all this is already available and explained, I could not find it. //JM |

And answering to myself: the scheduled operations are fully editable, but maybe it's not evident how.
If it helps to others: you need to right-click on the operation at the 'Scheduled operations' page, and in the contextual menu hit 'Jump to the operation' (suggestion: change this to 'Edit operation'). An operation (actually a template) page will open and it can be fully edited. Thanks! |
