I'm not sure how to turn the two imported operations of a transfer between accounts into a single transfer (elsewhere @salvatorerusso asks the same question). Is this the purpose of Tools > Find and group transfers ? The handbook says only "Create potential transfers". I tried it and it displayed a blue message "No transfers found". Likewise does this work on the selection, the current operations view , the entire skg file, or ???

You can use, this tool.
This will search operations with same dates in different accounts and opposite amounts and group them.
...

I just chose this menu item and Skrooge reported something like "6 transfers created." Is there any way to identify the transactions that Skrooge just turned into transfers? In an Operations view, there's no way to filter or sort on whether or not something was a transfer: the transfer icon is part of the "Mode" column and there's no separate "Is a transfer Yes/No" column. I can add the column "To account" and sort on it, but then it groups the two halves of the transfer far apart. I need them nearby in date order.

I hope Skrooge picked the right 6 or 12 transactions :)

Also, when viewing one operation in a transfer, is there a shortcut to jump to the matching transfer in the other account? As a workaround, I search all operations for the amount and the two halves show up close together.

Normally, at the end of the execution of this command a page is opened with the last modified operations. So, the wanted ones.
Else, you can use in the menu "Open last modified operations".
Or from the history, right click + "Open operations modified by the action".

Just double click on the operation.
