I'm trying to import some investment data into Skrooge by using the Import option and then selecting a csv file that I created with my mutual fund info on it. When I do this I'm getting the following error:
Any idea what this means or on how to properly import csv data into Skrooge? Are there certain column titles that must be present for it to work properly? Thanks!

The error message says that you are importing operations made on an uknown unit. Since you said this is for a mutual fund, I assume you made operations on some kind of shares or stocks, but you did not create them in the "units" panel first.
Isn't that the same thing as your previous issue ? I have to agree the error message is not really explicit, and that's application wide. We need to rework those... Guillaume

I'm a little confused on why I would have to create something in the units panel first. I'm assuming that importing a csv function would be used to enter data from another program. If that's the case, why would I have to enter information on the units panel first? Shouldn't the import function do that for me. Exactly what information would I have to enter there? I received this message when I was trying to import via csv. The other previous issue was when I was trying to manually enter the mutual fund data. Thanks!

Maybe I misunderstood the issue... Can you please post what your CSV file looks like ? You don't have to post real values, just a few lines with fake data would be OK, but make it similar to your real file.

Thanks !
Does the unit JAVLX already exist before importing the data ?

I have tried to import the data both before and after I add "JAVLX" to the units tab, and before and after I created an account named Janus Twenty Fund.
I still get the same results.

OK, we'll be working on this with Stephane (main skrooge developper), and we'll get back to you... Sorry for not knowing this, I never use investment nor import functions in skrooge.

Hi Gumper,
I think you tried to import operation (see screen capture) with "Import CSV Unit..." instead of "Import...". Could you try with "Import..." ? "Import CSV Unit..." must be used when you want importing values of a unit. |

Hi Smankowski, No, I used the "Import - Import" option and not the "Import - Import CSV units" one. Thanks for the help though.

Stephane (smankowski) said this was because of some tabs in the CSV file. His latest commit in SVN should solve that, if you are able to test it.
