I have been using Skrooge for three months now and I find it to be a very useful program for monitoring my expenses. One problem though, is that I cannot figure out how to use the Reconciliation function. I import all the data from OFX files which contain my current bank account balance, but the sum of my account in Skrooge is for some reason much smaller.

Let's say, I have €2000 on my bank account and I import OFX file which has the same amount in <BALAMT>2000</BALAMT> tags, but Skrooge tells me I have only €1500. Is the problem me or a bug?

It's Skrooge 0.6.0 on OpenSuse 11.2 with KDE 4.3.1.

Hi,

I am the main developer of Skrooge.
OFX import doesn't import the initial balance yet.
So, it's why you have a difference.

Could you send me by email an example of OFX file having an initial balance ?
Thank you to send me the expected result too.

Thank you for using Skrooge.

I've sent it to you by private message, since there is no email address on your profile page. Thank you for your help.

Hi,

I delivered a correction in KDE SVN to support initial balance in OFX import.
So, you can test it if you are able to build Skrooge from SVN.

For your information, I tested OFX import with KMyMoney and GNUCash, both are not supporting initial balance in OFX files.

This bug doesn't affect me, but I still want to give thanks to the developer. I also use Skrooge to manage my finances. It's a great application.

Hi again.
Skrooge Ubuntu Version 2.21.1
Im doing end of year accounts and suddenly find that the 'Sum Of' is incorrect in all. What could be causing this basic maths problem (Sum Of Personal Expenses should be 830.59) ? see below:
Image

Also on same reports page at bottom is option 'Corrected by' x or / then Box/hint 'select index to create values' in the last box, there is no indexes and seems no way to define them either?

Hi,
By double clicking on the "wrong" value, you will have the list of sub operations taking into account and you should be to understand why you have a not expected value.
