hello,
By mistake I protected my budget file with password and did not jot it down. Can I regain my password or restore the file? best regards, Wojtek |

Hi, I am the main developer of Skrooge. Because the file is encrypted with a 128 bits AES key, NO, it's not possible to restore a protected file without password. |

Hello again.
Last time I wrote this post I thought I encrypted my budget file although I assumed I had not done it. But wasn't sure. OK, I thought - my mistake. Next time I created a new budget file with Skrooge and that time I did not set a password. I'm sure for 100%. I store all my passwords in KeepassX database and there's no such password in it. I changed a system to Kubuntu. Having installed Skrooge it's turned out I set the password again. According to application. Skrooge again assumes I set the password and have encrypted database but this time I'm sure it's a app fault. Not mine! It's the second time I've lost my financial database after installation of system and it's the second time the app makes assumption I had set a password! Sorry but this made me angry. |
